Walt Disney Co. has acquired the option to make a movie based on I Choose to Stay. Read full coverage of the acquisition.

I Choose to Stay was selected to receive the 2004 Silver Angel Award from Excellence in the Media... other winners were National Geographic and Prime Time ABC News.

I Choose to Stay was the subject of a 14-page story in Readers Digest Magazine (February 2003).

Salome Thomas-EL received the 2004 Nation Builder Award from the National Black Caucus...... Past honorees include Marian Wright Edelman, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Robin Roberts and Commerce Secretary Ron Brown, just to name a few.

Barnes and Noble in suburban Philadelphia has sold more than 2,000 copies of I Choose to Stay from a single store.  It was  outsold only by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and The DaVinci Code.

A full page story on Salome Thomas-EL’s work and book appeared in the November edition of Black Enterprise Magazine, which has over 100,000 subscribers.

A half-hour interview with Salome Thomas-EL was aired the week of November 16, 2003 on the Christopher Closeup Show, broadcast in over 150 countries.
